All about Jesmonite – New Year, Same Fave Products! That’s right, 2025 is already here and we are still loving Jesmonite as much as ever!

Since being announced as an Official Jesmonite Reseller for Australia, we have been selling out quick of multiple items from the Jesmonite range. That’s why this year, we are expanding the Jesmonite range to offer more stock and variety.

For anyone that may be living under a rock and have yet to hear about Jesmonite, it is an incredible 2-part composite material that can be used for creating indoor and outdoor items. We’ve seen people make Vases, Candle Holders, Pot Plants, Coasters, Jewellery, Bathroom Trays, Sculptures and so much more.

All the Jesmonite products are powder and acrylic polymer formula that offers benefits like: non-toxic, easy to use, fast working time, strong, durable, high impact resistance, lightweight, no solvents, no VOC’s, easily pigmented and water based.

One of the added benefits of Jesmonite is, if you are already a resin artist or hobbyist, you likely already have all the essentials (like moulds, micas, inks, safety equipment, mixing tools) at home! (Almost) everything you use for resin, can be used for Jesmonite projects too.

So down to the important part, what Jesmonite products do we carry?

There isn’t a lot we don’t stock from the Jesmonite collection, BUT if there is something you are after specifically (i.e. A different size AC730, smaller pigments, or much larger volumes of Jesmonite) then make sure to send us an email: info@uresin.com.au and we will bring the stock into our warehouse for you.
If there is enough demand or frequent purchasing of these items, we will be more than happy to carry regular stocks in our warehouse for easier access and affordability.

MIX RATIOS OF JESMONITE –

Each Jesmonite system varies and it is also very important to note that Jesmonite should be measured by WEIGHT. So a pair of scales is essential to ensure accurate measurements and curing.

So what are the ratios? and how do you work it out?

AC100 –  Available in a 1.75kg kit, 3.5kg kit, 7kg kit, 17.5kg kit and 35kg kit.

AC100 is a water-based composite material used to make decorative moulded objects such as trays, coasters, bowls etc.
It has a 2.5 (powder) to 1 (liquid) mix ratio.
Eg. Liquid = 52g.   52 x 2.5 = 130. So you will need 130g of powder.
Then add colours if you wish, cast in a Silicone Mould and de-mould in 30 minutes*.

AC200 – Available in a 3kg, 7.5kg and 15kg kit.

Jesmonite AC200 is a water-based, modified gypsum composite material which is ideally suited to making masters and prototypes prior to moulding. It sets to a hard but easily carved surface and can be shaped using a variety of tools including CNC, routers and chisels. Mix ratio is 2:1

AC730 – Available in a 3kg, 6kg, 15kg and 30kg kit.

Jesmonite AC730 is a rapid setting acrylic modified cementitious composite. Typically used in external environments, but equally suitable for internal features, pot plants, mould castings and more. No harmful chemicals, it is Fire resistant, Lightweight and Impact resistant.

It has a 5 (powder) to 1 (liquid) mix ratio.
Eg. Liquid = 50g.   50 x 5 = 250. So you will need 250g of powder.

This is where you can input the total amount of mixed material you need for your mould, and it will calculate the split necessary for a correct ratio.

NEW JESMONITE COLOURS –

We only recently introduced the Jesmonite brand pigments to our range of products and we are excited to announce we are already expanding the range with the x3 beautiful new pigments from Jesmonite! They are Orange, Pink & Purple!

After much feedback from Resellers and Jesmonite users, Jesmonite have been working hard on the release of these THREE new Pigments! 🌈

These colours are bound to add some vibrancy to your pieces and can be used in different strengths in the same Jesmonite creations.

SEALERS – 
Now we have done a few other posts around the Jesmonite Sealers but with more products in the range, comes more information! Plus there is nothing wrong with an extra reminder here and there.

Here is a basic run down of each main sealer and the products they are most suitable with:

Flexiguard Sealer – Used to seal AC730. It coats porous surfaces and creates a water and stain-resistant piece. Clear coating, UV stable, extremely durable. Application – We recommend applied as a mist coat.

Gloss Sealer – Pure acrylic coating compatible with all Jesmonite composites, from AC100 to AC730. Applied by brush, roller, or spray. Increased Water & Stain Resistance and has a high gloss finish. Blend with water at a 80-20 ratio for a better application and even finish.

Acrylic Sealer – Pure acrylic coating compatible with AC100. Designed to ensure the matte appearance of Jesmonite is maintained whilst also being easily applied using brush, roller, or spray.
